IN LOVE WITH...
WORKS BY ELLIOTT ERWITT & MANY OTHERS
14 February is Valentine's Day. Taking the celebration of lovers as its starting point, the OstLicht Gallery is shining a spotlight on photographs that make amorous elation tangible through their deeply emotional character: The sales show IN LOVE WITH ... brings together spring fever visualised by photographers such as Mario Giacomelli, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Eve Arnold, Cora Pongracz, Franz Hubmann, Nobuyoshi Araki and Luisa Hübner and revolves around a tribute dedicated to the recently deceased Elliott Erwitt.
At the heart of the presentation are younger and older works by the Magnum legend, which he produced from the 1940s onwards during his recurring forays through the city of love. Erwitt's black and white views of Paris span more than seven decades and are among the most sensual that reportage photography has produced.
Duration of the exhibition: from 15 February to 13 April 2024
Opening hours: Wednesday-Saturday, 12pm-6pm or by appointment
