Next to Leica items as 0-series no.107, MP2 with motor, M2 grey, M9 Titanium prototype, important NASA cameras. We like to inform that we auction the first part of the Zeiss collection from Charles M. Barringer Jr., our dear friend who passed away last year. Charlie has put together a remarkable Zeiss collection of 2600 items. The family follows his instructions regarding the disposition of the collection and we would like to thank his wife Thérèse for her faith. Charlie was co-founder and president of the Zeiss Historica Society. Amongst many interesting pieces, we like to point-out the famous Contax gunstock from 1936 and the fastest lens ever produced, the unbelievable 40mm F/0.33 Super-Q-Gigantar by Carl Zeiss.
It is also an honour for us to auction some rare Nikon items which we received from Nikon Europe Headquarter. The auction proceeds will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross, in order to help the people suffering from the earthquake. The Nikon section’s highlight is the most early Nikon I camera existing, but also the famous Stereo-Nikkor for rangefinder cameras, the very first and rare 2000mm mirror lens and one of only 3 existing underwater housings for Nikon rangefinder should attract interest.
