On the 28th of October 2019, the exhibition ALISON JACKSON. FAKE TRUTH opened at WestLicht. FAKE TRUTH. It was a great evening! Thank you all for coming in such large numbers!

The Queen taking a selfie, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West having a home birth, Lady Di with her middle finger extended and Donald Trump clinching with Miss Mexico. Did we really just see that? In times of ubiquitous talk about fake news, the distinction between truth and fiction is becoming increasingly difficult. The staged photographs of the internationally award-winning British artist Alison Jackson, which WestLicht is showing in Austria for the first time, move along the blurred boundaries of reality and imagination.

The camera always lies - Alison Jackson's works are proof that even in photography one cannot trust one's own eyes.
